WATERBURY - Winslow "Johnny" Pugh - age 61, of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 21st 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Valerie (Curry) Pugh.

Johnny was born July 12th 1960 in Windsor, North Carolina the son of the late William and Mamie (Thompson) Pugh. He was raised in the New Haven area where he was educated and spent many years working as a laser welder inspector at Time Microwave Systems. Johnny was a man of deep faith and was the former pastor at Strait Way Ministries in Waterbury. Johnny was a skilled fisherman and enjoyed creating aquariums and was also an avid photographer and enjoyed music and playing the guitar.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife Valerie of 28 years he leaves his sons Jaiden Pugh of Waterbury, Winslow and Marquis Tyson both of New Haven, daughters Alisha Tyson of West Haven, Zakiyyah Watson and her husband Antwon of Waterbury. He also leaves a brother and 5 sisters as well as 5 grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering for Mr. Pugh will be held on Wednesday, September 29th 2021 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm. We continue to remain concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not.
