Obituary

William “Bill” Martin Kusy, age 59, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, after a year-long battle with cancer. Bill fought with incredible strength and courage, driven by the deep love he had for his family and his desire to spend every possible moment with them. He was welcomed into Heaven by his loving parents, Janice and Martin “Bud” Kusy; sister, Michele Marie Moran; and nephew, Anthony James Moran.

Bill was born and raised in Bridgeport and then later made his home in Naugatuck. Bill was a kind, generous, and fun-loving man with a great sense of humor. He treasured his family and friends and found happiness in the simple moments of life. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Bill was employed by Bushka Lumber for nearly 20 years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Linda; his loving daughter, Kayla Kusy; his son and daughter-in-law Damon and Heather Gallick; his grandsons, Dezmond and Dante; his sister, Lorraine and her husband, John Kalman; his brother-in-law John Moran; his brother-in-law, Philip J. Maher IV and his wife Colonese; his nephews Tyler Kalman (partner Leah and daughter, Kylee), Corey Kalman (wife Hayley and son James), Ryan Moran (wife Nora and son Miles), Dustin Maher, Christian Maher, and niece Brianna Chauvin (daughter Lilliana), along with numerous other family and friends that he loved dearly!

Bill loved spending time with his family and enjoyed traveling, cruising, scroll sawing, playing pool and singing karaoke. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan who remained loyal through every season. Although he will be deeply missed, the love, laughter and memories he created will remain in our hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Bill's family on Thursday, June 11th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, and from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on June 12th. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to St Vincent Ferrer Church 1006 New Haven Rd Naugatuck CT to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Saint James Cemetery. In this time of reflection, the family welcomes all who knew and loved Bill to share messages of condolence, comfort, and cherished memories.  Please visit the funeral home's tribute page at www.caseyfunerals.com to connect with the family or honor their loved one’s memory with floral arrangements.
