North Las Vegas NV – It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Walter “Mike” Morgan, age 73 of North Las Vegas NV, formerly of Waterbury CT passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Jacqueline “Brenda” (LeBel) Morgan.
Mike was born August 15, 1952 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of the late Catherine (Niebuhr) Morgan. Mike attended 12 years of Catholic school in Waterbury, attending St. Francis Xavier elementary school and Sacred Heart high school, class of 1970. Mike was active in sports from an early age and was a member of the Waterbury Boys Club for 15 years where he was an excellent swimmer and basketball player. When Mike wasn’t in school, he was either on the baseball field or working in the Waterbury YMCA cafeteria as a cook. Mike worked in manufacturing his entire adult career, starting with DOT Fastener downtown Waterbury for many years, where he ran the industrial paint sprayer, and was on the company softball team.
Mike retired from Pratt & Whitney after 35 years of service, working in the Southington, Cheshire, Middletown and East Hartford plants. For many years, Mike was responsible for maintenance and repair of jet engine parts for the military.
Mike was an avid Giants and Yankee’s fan and had often had ‘friendly banter’ with his father-in-law, who was a passionate Red Sox fan. His love of 60’s music, particularly The Beatles and Beach Boys, were prominent his whole life, singing along with the radio and at every concert.
After moving to Las Vegas in 2020, Mike spent his retirement days watching his favorite black and white TV shows from the 60’s and playing cards and games at the clubhouse. He was an excellent card player and was respected by his many ‘opponents.’ Mike will also be missed by his many favorite blackjack dealers at the casino.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy besides his loving wife Brenda of 54 years, are his son: Peter Morgan Sr and his wife, Monica (Botticello) Morgan. Mike and Brenda were blessed with 4 grandchildren: Peter Jr and Brooke Morgan and Lauren and Nathaniel Van Stone as well as his sister-in-law Janine (LeBel) Pasqua and several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. He is predeceased by his brother in laws; Richie LeBel and Anthony Pasqua Sr. and his uncle, Walter Neibuhr.
