Mr. Virgilio Cipriano

 Native of Frigento Italy

 WATERBURY- It is with great sadness that the family of Virgilio Cipriano, age 92 of Waterbury, announce his unexpected passing at home on Friday, July 5, 2024. He was the husband of the late Maria (Flammia) Cipriano.  

Mr. Cipriano was born on November 25, 1931 in Frigento, Italy, the son of the late Rocco and Maria (Cocchiola) Cipriano. Virgilio was a factory worker at Scovill Mfg. for many years. In retirement, he loved to garden, make wine and enjoy the company of his many friends over a cup of coffee. He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him. Virgilio’s family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks and acknowledge the staff at Apple Rehab for the kindness, care and love they shared with Virgilio and his family during his stay there.  

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his daughter, Giovannina Calo and her husband, Giovanni of Waterbury, his sons; Rocco Cipriano and his wife, Vicky of Wolcott and Nunzio Cipriano and his wife, Joann of Watertown, his grandchildren; Carmine Calo and his wife, Stephanie, Maria Luisa Calo, Melissa Cipriano, Rocco Cipriano, Stephanie Seitlinger and her husband Wayne, Nunzio Cipriano and his wife, Nicole and Alexandria Cipriano, great grandchildren; Gianna Cipriano, Valentino Calo, Jovanna Calo, Nico Seitlinger, Julian Seitlinger and Giovanni Sinotte. Virgilio was predeceased by his sister, Carmela Cipriano and his brother, Giovanni Cipriano.  

Funeral services for Mr. Cipriano will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, to Mary Mother of the Church Parish, St Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Ave, Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Cipriano family on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m, until leaving for church at 10:30 a.m. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence or words of comfort or share a memory of someone important to you with your family and friends.
