Beloved Mother and Grandmother “Teta”

WATERTOWN - Violette Ayoub, age 87 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the Vitas Innovative Care unit at Saint Mary’s hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the widow of Pierre Ayoub.

Violette was born May 1, 1935, in Lebanon, the daughter of Antoine and Katrina (Massoud) Karam. She was raised in Lebanon where she worked as a seamstress. Violette immigrated to Waterbury in 1977 and made her home on Beecher Avenue where she welcomed all her family and friends. Her home always seemed to be the first place any Lebanese visitors would stop. Violette worked for various garment companies throughout the Waterbury area, but Joyce Bridal was one of her favorites and most memorable. Violette always looked forward to trips back to Lebanon. She was a talented cook and doting grandmother who was always sure that her family, especially her grandchildren, were well-fed with traditional Lebanese meals. She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon church.

Left to honor her legacy and treasure her memory are her children, Paul Ayoub and his wife, Kimberly of Watertown, George Ayoub and his wife, Maha of Thomaston, and her daughter Nada Zarrini and her late husband, Samir of Danbury. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Peter, Soly and his wife Shannon, James, Danielle, and Mark, and her beloved nieces and nephews, Noha Karam, Pierre Karam, Vola Balikian, Tony Karam and their families in the US and Lebanon, as well as the many friends that she made while living in Buckingham Apartments. She is predeceased by her brothers George and Elias Karam.
