WATERBURY- It is with heavy hearts that the family of Veronia Foody, age 84, says farewell for now to our beloved sister, who passed peacefully in the comfort of Saint Mary’s Hospital on Monday, August 03, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Veronica was born on October 26, 1941, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Gerald and Catherine (Loye) Foody. Veronica was a proud graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, where she laid the foundation for a vibrant and dedicated career. She worked as a legal secretary for over 50 years, devoted to her profession and the law office where she made countless friends and contributed her diligent work ethic. Throughout her life, Veronica enjoyed many passions that shaped who she was. With a love for golf, she often spent her summers on the green, and her strong faith led her to watch daily Mass whenever she could not attend church. Veronica cherished her travels, frequently visiting Cape Cod and making three memorable trips to Ireland, experiences she treasured deeply. However, her greatest joy came from being with her family, and she held her loved ones close to her heart.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her brother John Foody and his wife Suzanne, and her sister Geraldine Vesterman and husband Charles. Veronia was predeceased by her significant other Edward Kowalwski, her nephew Christopher John Foody, great-nephew Christopher John Foody Jr., great-niece Felicia Matthews, and two great-great-nieces Milena and Ava.
Funeral services for Miss Foody will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Church, St Leo the Great Church, 15 Bentwood Dr, Waterbury, CT. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours; Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705, has been honored to assist the Foody family. In this time of reflection, the family welcomes all who knew and loved Veronica to share messages of condolence, comfort, and cherished memories. Please visit the funeral home's tribute page at www.caseyfunerals.com to connect with the family or honor their loved one’s memory with floral arrangements and other gifts of condolence.
