STRATFORD- Thomas “Tom” Edward Fogarty passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by the deep love of his family. Tom was born on September 1, 1948, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and made his home in Stratford at the time of his passing.

Tom spent most of his life in Connecticut, apart from 15 cherished years in California with his first wife and daughters. His time on the West Coast shaped him in meaningful ways — he worked for Emerson Electric Company, biked along the Pacific, played tennis, and fell in love with the easy rhythm of beach life. California always remained a place of bright memory and warm nostalgia for him.

Quiet by nature and sharp of mind, Tom was extraordinarily intelligent. He loved mathematics, puzzles, and science fiction, and he found joy in exploring worlds both real and imagined. A lifelong appreciator of music, books, movies, storytelling, and art, he often saw beauty where others might not. These passions became a language through which he expressed himself. For more than 25 years, he and his wife, JoAnn, shared these interests and the simple pleasures of life together in the home they dearly loved.

Tom’s greatest source of pride were the people he loved. He adored his daughters and grandsons, and he cherished the connection he shared with his siblings, nieces, and nephews. Those who knew him will remember him for his gentle presence, his thoughtful mind, and the quiet, steady way he loved.

Tom was the second child of John and Eleanor Fogarty (both deceased). He was one of four siblings: William (deceased), James, and Patricia. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his daughters, Andrea and Christine; and his grandsons, Liam and Julian, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held in the Spring of 2026, when family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
