Thelma Robinson, born March 24, 1963, to Otis Jordan and Doris Rountree, was one of ten children. After both of her parents fell ill, Thelma was lovingly raised by John and Edna Walton (Sis), who welcomed her as their own. She completed her education at Kennedy High School and answered a calling to care, becoming a devoted caregiver at Southbury Training School.
In 1986, Thelma married Antonio Robinson. She welcomed two daughters, Tiffany and April, and cherished being a mother. Her love for family extended to Shaquille, whom she later adopted as her own, and she cared for her nieces and nephews, Chontquè, Sharmaine, Shandra, Shawn, Dulane , Shamar, Dontè. Instilling in them the same values of family she was raised with.
Thelma found great joy in spending time with family, creating memories as often as she could. When not enjoying family gatherings, she delighted in crafts and creativity, with a keen eye for decorative towel sets and other handmade items she crafted to beautify and enrich the lives of those around her.
On December 4, 2025, Thelma passed away after a brief illness. Cherishing the memories and the time spent together, her love, nurturing spirit, and genuine kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
Thelma leaves behind her two daughters, Tiffany Robinson of Maryland, April Vaughn (Joshua) of Naugatuck, and Shaquille Robinson of Waterbury; nine grandchildren, Aubrey, Jada, Journeé, Paris, Joshua Jr. (Man-Man), Rozalyn, Makhi, Makenzie, and Athena. She is survived by her father, John Walton, of North Carolina; and her sisters, Doris (Rodger) Smith, of North Carolina, Annette Hill of North Carolina, Virginia Jordan of Waterbury. Brothers, Johnny Mac Rountree of North Carolina, Jimmy Jordan of Ohio, and Otis Alphonso (Cookie) Jordan of Waterbury.
She is predeceased by her biological parents, Doris Rountree and Otis Jordan, her adopted mother Edna (Sis) Walton, Donald Earl Rountree, James Jordan, and George Jordan.
