Obituary

WATERBURY- It is with deep sorrow that the family of Stephen Pannone II, age 62, of Waterbury, CT, shares the news of his unexpected passing on May 25th, 2026.

Stephen was born on July 21st, 1963, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Francis “Butch” and Frances (Genovese) Pannone. Stephen was a kind, charismatic, warm, creative, and talented man with a big heart and infectious laugh. He was loved by all who met him, and he would do anything for others, especially his family and those he loved. Stephen was raised in an Italian household where you would often find pasta dishes served, coffee poured, and dessert baked. He eventually became a phenomenal cook and host, following in his mother’s footsteps. Growing up, Stephen excelled academically and in football, like his older brother and father before him. Professionally, he was known for his masonry and carpentry career. He displayed great attention to detail, beautiful design, and a commitment to hard work. He enjoyed spending time in the garden, vacationing in Maine with his beloved partner, feeding those around him delicious food doused in love, and artistic hobbies.

He maintained deep roots and a fierce loyalty to his family. Stephen was incredibly proud of his children, whom they grew up to become, and the families they created. Additionally, he found great joy and had a deep love for his two granddaughters, whom he boasted about to anyone who would listen. His goal in life was to “be a good grandpa”, and boy did he achieve this goal. His favorite pastimes were watching his eldest granddaughter play T-ball on Saturday mornings every fall and spring, building large leaf piles for his girls to jump in, and big bear hugs every “hello” and “goodbye”. Stephen will be deeply missed, his memories cherished and remembered forever.

Stephen leaves behind his longtime partner Kim Paternostro and treasured dog Ellie; his children Briana Marino (James), Stephen Pannone (Lauren), and their mother Trish Pannone; His siblings David Pannone (Michelle), Lisa Fasano, and Francine Corbeil (Mark); His granddaughters Emma and Cara Marino; His grand dogs Enzo, Frankie, and Moxley; his nieces and nephews Jennifer Fasano, Bianca Feenstra (Jordan), Michael Pannone (Michelle), Emily Brunelle (Justin), Christina Zarkowski (Paul); his aunt Joanne Genovese; as well as many cousins including beloved Roseann Massa “RTM” and extended family members. Stephen is predeceased by his parents, Francis and Frances (Genovese) Pannone; his infant brother, Christopher Pannone; his special brother-in-law, Mark Fasano, whom he also considered a best friend; and his cousin, whom he adored, Jackie Kavadas.
