WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Miss Rosemary Ann Sullivan, age 88, of Waterbury, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in the comfort of her own home.

Rosemary was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on March 15, 1938, the beloved daughter of the late William and Florence (Bolger) Sullivan. Shepursued her love for teaching after earning her undergraduate degree from Boston University and later her Master’s degree from UConn. For 35remarkable years, she inspired countless young minds as an elementary teacher at Carrington Elementary School and Barnard School in Waterbury. Her dedication to her students was matched only by her love for a good movie, and she had an eye for fashion with her countless outfits. She will be missed by her family and those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish and honor her memory are her cousins: Albert “Terry” Sweeney and his wife Linda of Darnestown, Maryland and Gary Sweeney and his wife Diane of Madison, Wisconsin. She also leaves behind many extended family members and beloved friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Sullivan will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow at New Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterbury.
