WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Ronald “Eddie” Philmore Edwards, age 79, of Waterbury, shares the news of his unexpected passing on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at home.

Eddie was born on January 6, 1947, in Portland, Jamaica, the son of the late Kenneth and Georgiana (Scott) Edwards. Ronald served honorably in the Jamaican Army, a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country. After moving to the United States, he became a valued member of the Bureau of Refuse, tirelessly working as a sanitary worker for the City of Waterbury. Known for his hard work and integrity, Ronald embraced the simple joys of life while maintaining a light-hearted spirit. He was a man of warmth and humor, always ready with a joke and a smile, enriching the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His family was his heart, and he drew great joy from their time together. Ronald was also a faithful parishioner of Rehoboth Church in Waterbury, where his spirituality and commitment to his faith provided guidance throughout his life. A simple man, Ronald had a deep appreciation for the little things in life, whether it was watching the news, staying connected with the world, or enjoying a good tune. His love for music resonated in his laughter, which could lift spirits and foster warmth in any room. Those who knew him will remember him not just for his laugh but for his kindness and gentle demeanor.

Left to honor and cherish his memory, are his children; Donovan Edwards of Danbury, Paul Anthony Edwards of Jamaica, Alyssa Edwards of North Haven, Karen Edwards of Jamaica, and Latoya Blair of Waterbury, his sister, Doreen Edwards of London, and his beloved grandchildren; DonQuavious, Lauren, Dontae, Krishane, Yakira, Kamaria, Poetri, Aliyah, Nadia, and Shanique, Delvin, Kevon, Jesseca, Daniella, and Daniele.
