Obituary

Devoted to his family

WATERBURY –Mr. Roger L. St. George, age 74, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Marilyn (House) St. George.

Mr. St George was born on August 27, 1949 in Central Falls, RI the son of the late Albert and Florence (Vermelin) St. George. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Masters degree in Reproductive Physiology. He worked for many years at Boehringer-Ingelheim in Ridgefield, CT as a Research Scientist. Roger enjoyed all sports, especially fishing and golf. He also coached the youth in the Overlook section of Waterbury. He was a proud fan of the Boston Red Sox. He had many passions in life including cooking and bread-baking, but he saved the most important passion for his family. Spending time with his wife and children was always a priority for Roger. He will be deeply missed but his warmth, kindness and generosity will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy beside his wife of 48 years, are his children, Benjamin St George of VT, Jennifer St. George of CT and Kathryn St. George of VT, his grandson, Maximillan, his brother, Richard St. George of FL, and his sisters, Pauline McGovern and Doris St. George, both of RI.

Funeral services for Mr. St George will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Waterbury 222 West Main St Waterbury. Military honors will be accorded Mr. St George immediately following the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family. To honor his memory and in lieu of flowers donations to the First Congregational Church of Waterbury Scholarship Fund, 222 West Main St Waterbury 06710, would be greatly appreciated by his family.
