WATERBURY – Robert D. Laviana, age 84, of Waterbury, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, after a long illness. He was the husband of Gui Ping (Dou) Laviana.
Robert was born on December 12, 1939, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Lester and Florence (Hurley) Laviana. He served in the US Navy and retired from the Waterbury Police Department. Bob spent his later years happily serving his “clients” of Meals on Wheels until his illness.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, beside his wife, Gui Ping (Cindy) Laviana, Robert is also survived by his children, Lester, Tina, Scott, and Robert Laviana, Deborah Smith, Kim and Thomas Hamel, and Deborah Wright. He also leaves several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister, Lois Rogers, and his beloved fur baby, Maine Coon, Joe. He is predeceased by his two sons, Gary and Greg Laviana.
Services for Mr. Laviana will be held privately and at the convenience of his family as per Bob’s wishes. There are no calling hours.
