Member of Bristol Fish and Game Club

WATERBURY - Robert T. Belanger, age 87 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at Saint Mary's Hospital on Sunday, December 12, 2021. He was the loving husband of Laura (Bento) Belanger.

Robert was born December 30th 1933 in Waterbury, the son of the late Theodore and Gertrude (Margiotta) Belanger. Robert was a lifelong resident of Waterbury, graduating from Leavenworth High School. Bob worked as a machinist for several manufacturing companies throughout the, Waterbury area retiring from Anaconda Metal Hose. He enjoyed playing softball and volleyball on the (IRA) Industrial Recreation Association League and was a long-time member of the Bristol Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling to the casino and was also a longtime member of the Wolcott Senior Center but was always happiest while spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to cherish his memory, and honor his legacy, besides his wife, Laura of 67years are his children; Steven Belanger and his wife, Cheryl, Thomas Belanger and his wife, Diane both of Thomaston, his daughter, Susan Izzo of Litchfield as well as his brothers, Donald Belanger of Newtown and David Belanger of Michigan. Robert and Laura were blessed with four grandchildren: Chad, Anthony, Christine and Kyle as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings; Douglas, Raymond and Roland Belanger and Shirley Kihl.

Funeral Services for Mr. Belanger will be held on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021, at 12:00 Noon at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with the Belanger family on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether you are vaccinated or not.
