WOLCOTT - It is with profound sadness and shattered hearts that the family of Richard "Dick" F. Reilly Sr., age 80 of Wolcott, shares the news of his peaceful passing at St. Mary's Hospital, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Barbara (Cukrowicz) Reilly to whom he was married for 59 years.
Dick was born on October 30, 1944, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Francis and Anne (McNeillis) Reilly. He was a graduate of Scared Heart High School where he was a state championship diver and then went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Air Force. After serving our country, Dick went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in accounting at Central Connecticut State University, following college he went on to work for several years at Colonial Bank, a few other banks and then finished his career at United Labor Agency. He was an avid golfer, often finding solace on the golf course, and he relished the simple pleasures of life, such as napping in the sun on his float. His love for Cape Cod brought him countless memories of laughter and relaxation with family and friends. What meant the most to Dick was being a grandfather and attending all their sports games. He will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to love and know him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memories are his two children Richard Francis Jr., and Maureen (William) Herzman, his two grandchildren Morgan and Robert "Bobby", brother Robert (Susan) Reilly, sister Diane McCue, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings Francis, Steven, and Susan Becker.
