WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Richard A. Lavigne Jr., age 59, of Waterbury, say farewell for now, to our brother, uncle, nephew and friend, following his passing on Monday, August 10, 2026, at home.

Richard was born on June 7, 1967, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the beloved son of the late Richard A. Lavigne Sr., and Sharon (Maxwell) Lavigne. He was a proud graduate of Wilby High School and dedicated his life to his craft as a welder, where his talent and hard work held make him an outstanding craftsman and employee. He was a man of simple pleasures, thoroughly enjoying his work and the routine of life. In his downtime, Richard found joy in cheering on his favorite Nascar and football teams, and he cherished the moments spent with his family. May he rest in the peaceful arms of his Lord and Savior.

Left to cherish and honor his memory are his brother: Jerry Lavigne and his wife Jennifer of Torrington, his nephews: Alec and Steven and his niece, Katherine. He also leaves his aunts and uncles: Marsha Walker, Elaine Rosa, Holly Pescatelli, Gerard Lavigne, Donna Garbus and Laura Galante and many other extended family members and beloved friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Dawn Ceddia.

Funeral services for Mr. Lavigne Jr. will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
