Rebecca Anne Lorch, 32, National Strongman Winner and Champion, died unexpectedly at her home in Waterbury, Connecticut, on December 18, 2022,

Rebecca was born in Dallas, Texas, on February 20, 1990. Rebecca was the daughter of Susan J. Steiner, of Waterbury, and Leonard N. Lorch, of Dallas. She graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts. After developing a passion for fitness and nutrition, she began her journey with competitive power lifting, which led to her involvement in the Strongman organization and competitions. Rebecca’s passion and drive led to her winning the 2019 Strongman Nationals and 2020 America’s Strongest Women achievements in her weight class. Rebecca also earned a Master’s degree in Nutrition at Montclair State University in New Jersey. She trained others as a private nutritional coach and was a Personal Training Manager at Equinox Gym, both in New York City for several years and most recently in Southport, Connecticut. Rebecca was loving, strong willed, and driven in everything she did. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, those left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are: her brother, Jeremy D. Lorch, and his wife, Victoria A. Pelletier, of Meriden, Connecticut; Susan’s partner, Rene M. Gagnon, of Waterbury; her grandparents, Jay and Betty Lorch, of Dallas; her grandmother, Anne Brooks, of New York City; her Uncle and Aunt, Roy and Laurel Steiner, of Colorado; and her Uncle and Aunt, Robert and Karen Steiner, of New Jersey; as well as many cousins around the country.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial event will be scheduled at a later time. Casey’s Eastside Memorial, of 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, is honored to serve Rebecca’s family at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, kindness and love are always welcome.
