WATERBURY –Raymond E. Coer Jr., age, 61 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on Monday, May 22, 2023, after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Raymond was born August 7, 1961, in New Haven, CT, the son of the late Raymond Coer Sr. and Nancy (Morrone) Coer. Raymond grew up in the Waterbury area where he was educated in local schools. He spent his adult life as a truck driver and a mechanic for various companies.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his sons, Raymond Coer III of Long Island, NY, Anthony Coer of Waterbury, CT, and Joseph Coer of Orangeburg, SC. His daughters Marie Coer-Ramos of Waterbury, CT, and Rachel A-Massih of Waterbury, CT. In addition, he leaves his sisters Judy Case, Cynthia Coer Butcher, and Concetta Kile, as well as 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is predeceased by his two brothers.
He asked to express his deepest gratitude to Robert and Laura Quinn, Joseph and Laura Rossi, and Shelly Patrick, for making sure he was taken care of during the hard times in his life.
A memorial gathering for Mr. Coer will be held on Tuesday May 30, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck, will be held privately and at the convenience of his family.
