BORN IN ST. CROIX US VIRGIN ISLAND
WATERBURY – Ramona Felix, age 64, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness.
Ramona was born December 23rd, 1959, in St Croix, US Virgin Island, the daughter of the late Augustine Navarette and Isabel Rivera Ocasio. Ramona and her family moved to the Waterbury area in 2003, where they made their home. She was a member of the East Spanish Congregation Of Jehovah's Witnesses in Waterbury and loved to cook and spend time in the park, as well as listening and dancing to her favorite music. One of Ramona’s favorite things to do was to host Bar-B-Q picnics for her family. Ramona was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy is her long time partner, Aureilo "Tito" Rivera, her children, Julio Felix and his wife, Natasha, Miguel Rivera, Angel Rivera, Maria Felix, Griselle Felix and her husband, Jerry, and Angelica Rivera and her husband, James, all of Waterbury. Ramona was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Leslie Felix, Romeio Howell, Victor Santiago, Jose Santiago, Jasir Maldonado, and Nyelah Rivera. In addition, Ramona leaves her siblings Jose Picart, Maria Serrano, Anna Picart, and Isander Navarette, as well as many other extended family members and friends in including her favorite niece Malta Velasquez.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Felix will be held on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at 6:30 pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury; relatives and friends may visit with Ramona’s family from 5:00 pm until the start of the service at 6:30 pm.
