WATERBURY. Mr. Philip C. Stone, age 72, of Oak St. Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was the widower of Nancy C. (Pace) Stone.

Philip was born July 9, 1935 in Worcester MA, the son of the late Raymond and Arline (Wilkins) Stone. He was raised in Winsted and attended local schools there and was a member of the US Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a sales representative for Monroe Business Systems and Frieden Corp and was also an agent for Mass Mutual Life for many years. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Waterbury.

Philip leaves his son, Dr. Mark Stone and his wife MaryBeth of Watertown, his daughter Carmel Van Hare and her husband John of Bloomfield, two brothers, Armand Stone of Meriden and Raymond Stone of Pennsylvania, a brother-in-law, Rev. Paul Pace of Waterbury and a sister-in-law, Janet Stango of Waterbury. He also leaves 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 10:00 am from the Casey-O'Donnell Funeral Home 1581 East Main Street Waterbury, CT, to St. Francis Xavier Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Stone's memory may be made to the St. Francis Xavier School Development Fund, 615 Baldwin St. Waterbury CT. or to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
