WATERBURY - In loving memory of our beloved, Paul “Paulie” J. Costa, age 39, we share the profoundly sad news of him being unexpectedly called to God’s Kingdom on December 16, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Waterbury, Paulie was born on August 31, 1986. He fulfilled his life’s mission by providing love, kindness, generosity, and laughter to everyone he encountered. As reflected in a quote by Mark Frost  “There is the family we are born with and the family we make along the way,” Paulie truly considered everyone, he befriended to be family—a testament to his ability to offer unconditional love, freely and equally, to all who were important to him. Paulie enjoyed spending his free time fishing and golfing, but above all, he cherished playing with his ride-or-die companion, his dog Lady Bug, who went everywhere with him.

He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Jericha Council, her daughter, Kavona and granddaughter, Kali; his mother, Anne (Gambardella) Costa; his sister, Alicia Riggi (Joe); his niece, Briana Iannicelli (Michael); as well as numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. Paulie was predeceased by his father, Gary Costa, and his brother, Andrew Costa.

A Celebration of Paulie’s life “A Beautiful Farewell” will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
