Pat was born on August 3, 1937, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Springer) Dunlap. Patricia was a remarkable woman whose spirit embodied resilience and determination. She was a true jack of all trades, dedicating her life to a range of occupations, and her unwavering perseverance shone brightly through every challenge she faced. Possessing a natural talent for music, Patricia could play nearly any instrument, including the drums, and a heart that resonated with country tunes. Known for her fierce independence and spirited nature, Pat embraced life with tenacity and joy. She cherished her time spent fishing and camping, often finding happiness in the simplest moments in the great outdoors. Her laughter and stubbornness became a source of strength for those around her, and she faced every health issue with an inspiring bravery that left a lasting impression on her loved ones.
Left to honor and cherish her memory, are Mary-Lou Scott of Cheshire, her son William Stack of Naugatuck, her grandson whom she raised with Mary-Lou as if he was their own son, Michael Stack of Winsted, her sister Lorraine “Rainy” Hayes of Waterbury, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren along with another one on the way. Pat also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Besides her parents, Pat was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Kim Vanhall, her brother Robert “Bobby” Dunlap, and her sister, Carol Jamele.
Pat’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire team at Saint Mary’s VITAS Unit for the exceptional care, kindness and true love that they shared with Pat and her family during her illness.
