WATERTOWN – Patricia Kafchinski, age 87 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Apple Rehabilitation Center in Watertown after an extended illness. She was the widow of Leo F. Kafchinski.
Mrs. Kafchinski was born on November 9, 1935, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Maher Martin. Patricia was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and was a loving and dedicated homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the USO. She enjoyed fishing and boating in Clinton and along the Long Island Sound. She also enjoyed attending the Elks lodge with her husband. However, nothing was more important to Patricia than her family and she was always happiest while spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia was unique in so many ways. She made the world a better place for all of us, and we are all blessed and thankful to have had her in our lives.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children; Leon “Lee” Kafchinski and his wife, Elizabeth of Litchfield, Larry Kafchinski and his wife, Barbara of AL, Lynn Stark and her husband, Stephen of KY, Lori Muni and her husband, John of FL, her brother Jim Martin and his wife, Brigitte of FL, her 11 grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leo F. Kafchinski of 62 years, her son, Leonard “Lenny” Kafchinski and her daughter, Lisa Stack as well as her brothers; Edward, John and Raymond Martin and her sister Ruth O’Brien.
Joint Funeral Services for Mrs. Kafchinski and her son, Leonard, including a celebration of their life, will be held on June 5, 2023, further details will be announced as they become available.
