Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

MIDDLEBURY – Olive “Ollie” (Tuohy) Tuccillo, the loving wife of the late Gordon Tuccillo for 63 years, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, January 19th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family after a brief illness.

Olive was born September 10th, 1927, in Naugatuck, CT, daughter of the late Harold R. & Helen (Sullivan) Tuohy, and has been a Middlebury resident for over 66 years. She was a former employee of both Eyelet Specialty and Uniroyal in Naugatuck and then retired from Southbury Training School after 20 years of service. Olive was a member of the Middlebury Senior Center, where she enjoyed having lunch with friends and playing bingo. She was a member of the Good Sams Camping Club for 45 years and enjoyed camping with family and friends and her dog KC. She also loved her two cats, Samy and Minnie.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her two daughters, Janet Crawford of Waterbury and Kelly Bunker of Virginia. She also leaves her grandchildren; James and Ryan Phelan, Shane and Shannon Bunker, Jaime and Kaitlyn Martone, Alex and Olivia Crawford and Jalen and Janelle Johnson. In addition, she leaves her ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including two special nieces; Eileen Hermann and Katie Tuohy. She was predeceased by her three daughters, Dianne Phelan, Mary Ann Jenkins, and Donna Martone; three brothers, John, George and Robert Tuohy; and three sisters; Florence Bergin, Dorothy Goff, and Margaret Purcell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tuccillo will be held privately at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.
