Mrs. Nancy Cleary

WATERBURY - It is with profound sorrow that the family of Nancy Ann (Rotella) Cleary share the news of her peaceful passing at Saint Mary’s Hospital on June 9, 2025, at the age of 76, following an extended illness which she fought until the end. She was the beloved wife of Michael Cleary Sr., whom she was married to for 55 wonderful years.

Nancy was born on November 03, 1948, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Cipriano) Rotella Sr. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and was a devoted and active parishioner of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church for 50 years. She was a very kind, loving, and beautiful person inside and out. What meant most to Nancy was her husband, she cherished every moment she was able to spend with him. Nancy lived her life surrounded by her family and her love for them. Rest in peace Nancy as your legacy of love and your spirit will endure forever.

Left to honor and cherish her memory besides her husband, is her son, Michael (Dana) Cleary Jr, her grandsons Kyle and Trevor Cleary, her sister, Rosemary Brennan, sister-in-law, Maureen Cleary, and two brothers-in-law: Kevin and Patrick, along with extended family and friends. Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Joseph “Junior” Rotella Jr., sister, Barbara Daddona, sisters-in-law: Margaret Torok, and Harriet Cleary, along with her brothers-in law: William “Tiger” Cleary, Shaun Cleary, Brian Cleary, and Peter Cleary.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cleary will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Nancy’s family on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 at the funeral home.
