THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF NAHEEL HADDAD

"Devoted to her family"

WATERBURY - Naheel Haddad 94 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday March 12, 2022.

Naheel was born October 27, 1927 in Maasar El Chouf Lebanon, the daughter of the late Yousef and Freeda Haddad. She moved to Connecticut 1947 as a young bride to the late Ernest Haddad. Naheel loved this country immediately and became a proud citizen of the United States.
She went to data entry school to begin her successful career, which provided a better life for her 4 daughters. Naheel worked at the Bristol Company and then The Traveler's Insurance Company, first in Waterbury then Hartford until her retirement in 1989.
After retirement Naheel started her own floral arrangement business which she was successful at, however her focus changed when her grandchildren started arriving. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Naheel would often quote "there is nothing more dear than your children, except your children's children." As a dedicated 'Sittou', she was the maker of Halloween costumes, speaking at her grandchildren's school and readily available for anything that came up.

Naheel was known for her kindness, class, beauty and great cooking. She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Waterbury and was of strong faith. You could find her working tirelessly making and serving Tabouli at the annual Taste of Lebanon Festival. Naheel would often invite newcomers to this country for dinner and take them under her wing. She was known as a welcoming, generous and kind woman who would make you feel like the most important person when you walked into the room. There was nothing Naheel could not do. She loved decorating her home, she mastered upholstering her first try, she made beautiful dresses for her young children and she set a picture-perfect table with many tasty delights. One of Naheel' s proudest days was when she was the Lebanese Mayor for the Day in 2011, which she took quite seriously. Naheel so enjoyed traveling the globe with her daughter, Norinne and her brother, Freddy.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her daughters; Claudia (Kevin) Feeney of Concord, MA , Norma (James) Purcell of Canton, CT, Norinne (David) Byrne of Cheshire, CT and Corinne Haddad-Mullen (John) of Watertown., CT. Naheel also cherished her 4 sons-in-law 's and always said, "I love my Irish son in laws" and blew a kiss to God. She was blessed with her 7 grandchildren; Sarah Naheel (Purcell) Richardson of Charlotte, NC, Christina Naheel (Feeney) MacDonald of Andover, MA, Kelley Marie Purcell of Canton, CT, Danielle Naheel Mullen of NYC, James Purcell of Denver, CO, Joseph Feeney of Concord, MA and Patrick Mullen of Milford, CT. Her great grandchildren Vada Naheel, Lena, Declan, Faye and Caden. Her dear nieces; Marlane Fitzgerald, Monique Hellwinkle and Nawal Haddad along with her dear nephews Dr. George Barchini, Mike Bousaada, Rafaat Bousaada, Fred Bousaada and many very dear family members. Also, her very dear caregivers and friends Marybeth Petrucelli and Marva Spooner and Hartford Hospice Team who were absolutely wonderful. Naheel was predeceased by former husband and friend, Ernest, her brother Fred (TV Fred) Haddad and sisters Zahia Bousaada and Sadie Barchini, her nephews, Tony Bousaada, Simon Bousaada and Nakli Barchini, her niece, Claudia Barchini and her very dear first cousins Lillian Shaker and Renee Corey.
