Waterbury
WATERBURY- It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Cheryl Ann Williams, age 63, say farewell for now to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who passed away at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Thursday, October 15, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of her family. She was the loving wife of Anthony “Tony” D. Williams Sr.
Cheryl was born on August 8, 1963, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of Charles Jones and late Mary Collins. She was raised in Waterbury, but she eventually made her way to California, where she met her husband Tony and began building a family of their own. Together, they were blessed with two children who became the center of their world. After spending time in California, she returned to Connecticut to care for her beloved grandmother, demonstrating the compassion, strength, and devotion that were such a meaningful part of who she was. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), always committed to caring for others. She also worked as a secretary for the Office of Allergy and Asthma Associates in California, where she brought her intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic to her role. Above all, she was a strong and loving mother whose greatest joy came from her family. She had a sharp mind and enjoyed keeping herself busy with puzzles, word searches and spending time with her beloved dog, trouble. She also appreciated good food and the simple pleasures that made life special. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished the time she spent with those closest to her. She will be remembered for her strength, her caring heart, her intelligence, and the unconditional love she gave to her family, leaving behind treasured memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Besides her husband of 38 years, Tony, left to cherish and honor her memory are her children: Anthony “Bo” D. Williams Jr and Zari “Granny” Elizabeth Williams, her granddaughter Zalina Williams and Nova Williams and her siblings: Stacey Brown, Vaughn Collins, Casey Collins, Kyle Collins, Terrance Collins and Scooter Collins. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and beloved friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Jonathan Collins and Tiny Collins and her grandparents Ann and Moses Gatlin.
All services for Mrs. Williams will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
