WATERBURY — It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Edmund “Eddie” Diaz-Edgehill, age 27, say farewell for now, to our beloved son, father, brother, boyfriend and friend, following his unexpected and tragic passing on Monday, September 14, 2026.
Eddie was born on June 18, 1999, in West Islip, New York, the beloved son of Ruben Edgehill and Christiana Diaz. Eddie moved to Connecticut when he was just three years old and spent most of his life growing up in Waterbury, a community he was proud to call home. Throughout his life, Eddie worked many different jobs, including positions in retail sales specializing in athletic footwear. Most recently, he worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, where he took great pride in serving his community and meeting people along his route. Eddie was a kind and genuine person who had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. To know Eddie was to love him. He enjoyed traveling and making memories, and in his younger years, he proudly played football. He was also a devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens and could often be found cheering them on.
Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy, beside his parents, is his daughter; Aria Diaz-Edgehill of Waterbury, his girlfriend and Aria's mother; Adonai Mejia of Waterbury, and his beloved siblings; Jasmine Edgehill of Queens, New York, Alexander Victorin of Wallingford, Angelica Sanchez of Waterbury, Rodney Edgehill of Brooklyn, New York, and Raenelle Edgehill of Georgia. Eddie also leaves behind his maternal grandmother: Margaret Chevalier, many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Funeral services for Eddie will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705.
