MIDDLETOWN CT- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Monique Ann (Primerano) Dwyer age 58 of Middletown, share the news of her peaceful passing surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Hartford Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer.
Monique was born in Suffern, NY on May 5, 1967, the daughter of the late Joseph Michael and Barbara Joan (Medaglia) Primerano. She was educated in local schools and was all about caring for others which led her to a very rewarding experience as an EMT with New Britain EMS. Monique worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the state of CT, court support services, and just prior to her illness, a Patient Care Technician at Middlesex Hospital in their Hospice Unit. There she found great joy caring for others at the end of their lives. She was an avid reader, enjoyed excursions to the beach and an occasional trip to the casino. Monique also enjoyed following sports and always rooting for her favorite teams the NY Yankees and Giants. When she was feeling down or needed a laugh, she would reach out to her son Mark. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her favorite TV shows with her daughters. Monique was exceptional in almost every way but she excelled the most at being a devoted mother and sister. She was a stellar example of grace and class. Our family thanks you mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us. She will be deeply missed but her warmth, kindness, generosity and loving compassion will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Left to honor her legacy and memory are her children; Mark Zocco and his fiancé Karly Mulligan, and Megan and Caitlin Dwyer all of Middletown. She also leaves her beloved sister, Zosh Flammia and her former husband and best friend John Dwyer as well as other extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Monique’s family on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury.
