WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Mr. Miguel Rosario Alvarez, age 80, of Waterbury, shares the news of his peaceful passing on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in the blessed comfort of his home.

Miguel was born on May 4, 1946, in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, the beloved son of the late Manuel Rosario and Juana Alvarez. Miguel dedicated 47 years to working at Metallon Inc., where his dedication and drive was known to all those who were blessed to work alongside him. Miguel’s love for his family was evident in everything he did. He was not only a committed provider but a source of joy and laughter, known for his witty sense of humor that could light up any room. Nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family. He was humble and unwavering, always putting others before himself. His sense of humor could light up the room, and he had a unique gift for making those around him smile, earning the affection of all who had the honor of knowing him. In addition to his family, Miguel found joy in his hobbies, particularly collecting tools and watching his favorite cartoon, Pink Panther. He was also known to be a particularly skilled mechanic. These pastimes reflected his joyful spirit and a zest for life, a reminder of the simple pleasures that filled his days.

Miguel will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and hard work will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Miguel. Your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

Left to honor and cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his children; Adelaida Rosario of Waterbury, Ruth Rivera of Hartford, Miguel A. Rosario of Pennsylvania, Raquel Rosario of Waterbury, and Manuel Rosario of Waterbury, as well as those he took care of and loved as if they were his own children; Eladio Rivera of Meriden, James Lopez of East Haven, and David Rivera of Waterbury. Miguel also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Miguel was predeceased by Eluid Rivera, whom he loved and raised as his own son

A Memorial Service for Mr. Rosario Alvarez will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT. Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with Miguel’s family on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Rosario will be buried on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Those planning to attend may meet at the funeral home and visit with the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until leaving for the cemetery at 10:30 a.m,.
