Lifelong Waterbury Resident

WATERBURY - Maureen T. Dunphy age 82 passed away peacefully on Friday December 17, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph Dunphy.

Maureen was born January 12, 1939 to the late Thomas and Olga Tracy (Flugrath). She was the youngest of three children. Maureen graduated from Crosby High School and was married shortly after to Joseph Dunphy for more than 40 years. She also graduated from Post University before starting her career at Chase School and then spending many years working as the Director of Safety Services for The Red Cross. Nothing made Maureen happier than styling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The only thing she loved more than a day out shopping at her favorite stores, were summers on Cape Cod and spending time with her family.

Maureen was preceded in death by daughters Laurie Ravenscroft, Donna Stafstrom, and Janice Mackiewicz as well as her grandson Patrick Stafstrom. In addition, she was predeceased by her loving canines Spirit and Kobe.

Maureen is survived by her youngest daughter Leanne Dunphy who dedicated herself to ensuring Maureen had the highest quality of life. She is also survived by her grandsons Jason Taylor and his wife Dana, Kevin and Ryan Taylor, Michael Stafstrom and his wife Amy as well as her son-in-law Eric Stafstrom. She also has seven great-grandchildren which she adored in addition to her loving pup Scooby.

Funeral Services for Maureen will be held on Thursday December 23, 2021 at 6:30 pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with Maureen's family on Thursday from 4:00 till 630 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services whether or not you are vaccinated.
