WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary Angie Santos DeJesus, age 47, of Waterbury, shares the news of her passing on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Wilfrido “Juno” Cruz.

Mary was born on May 6, 1978, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the beloved daughter of Aldio and Virgenmina Santos DeJesus. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, and her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds. Mary had an infectious laugh that brought joy to her family’s gatherings, and her ability to make others smile was a gift she treasured. Mary found peace in gardening, where her passion for flowers and plants flourished. She took great delight in nurturing her garden, creating a beautiful sanctuary that mirrored her loving spirit. Mary was the essence of love and kindness. She was a tireless caregiver, particularly to her own mother, demonstrating the depths of her compassion. Her selfless spirit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who were blessed to share moments with her. May her memory be an eternal blessing.

Left to honor and cherish her memory and legacy, alongside her beloved husband, are her children: Jasmine Cruz, Alicia Cruz, and Kassandra Cruz, all of Waterbury, her parents: Aldio Santos of Puerto Rico and Virgenmina Santos DeJesus of Waterbury, and her sisters: Maria Montero and Carmen Muniz both of Waterbury. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends. Mary was predeceased by her brother Jose Santos as well as her sister Juanita Ocasio.

Funeral services for Mrs. Santos DeJesus will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705.
