WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Mariana (Caserez) Ormezzano, age 78, of Waterbury, share the news of her passing on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. She was the widow of Jose L. Ormezzano.
Mariana was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Lazaro T. Caserez and Maria C. Gromik. She devoted her life to her family and the pursuit of opportunity and happiness for those she loved. She began her working life at the young age of 12, starting with odd jobs that included cleaning houses. She was the devoted wife of Jose L. Ormezzano for 40+ years. In 1980, they immigrated to Waterbury, Connecticut seeking new opportunities for herself and her family. Her unwavering determination and strong work ethic were evident throughout her life as she worked at WANHO Manufacturing in Cheshire, Connecticut for many years. Her passions included her collecting an enchanting assortment of antique kerosene lamps and the joy she found in traveling back to Argentina to connect with family. However, her greatest treasure was the time she spent with her loved ones, cherishing every moment shared and every memory made. As we gather to celebrate Mariana's remarkable life, let us carry forward the love and lessons she so generously imparted, forever holding her memory close to our hearts.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Sergio L. Ormezzano and Jorge A. Ormezzano both of Waterbury, and her siblings; Nancy R. Caceres, Karina Caceres, Dalila Caceres and Lucrecia Caceres all of Argentina. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
