WATERBURY – It is with profound sorrow and broken hearts that the family of Maria Rangel, age 58, of Waterbury, announce her unexpected passing on Thursday February 22, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital,
Maria was born on September 29th, 1965, in the Bronx, NY, where she was raised prior to moving to Lebanon, PA, where she spent many years raising her family. Eventually, Maria moved to Waterbury to be closer to her own family. Maria was talented in many ways and enjoyed arts and crafts and decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween, which was probably her favorite holiday always going above and beyond with spooky decorations. She also had a passion for music but the happiest time of her life and what she excelled the most at was being a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children, Esteban Rangel, Priscilla Sandy, Crystal, and Estrella Rangel, as well as her sisters; Carmen and Beverley Pagan, Sandra Feliciano, and Zulma Feliciano. She also leaves many grandchildren and other extended family members and many friends. She was predeceased by her son, Christopher Rangel.
A Memorial Gathering celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 1st 2024 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
