"Devoted wife, mother and grandmother"
WATERTOWN - Marcia Joan (Gwiazdoski) Famigletti age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 16, 2021 at the Apple Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle against cancer.
Marcia was born in Waterbury on June 22, 1939, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Teresa (Curti) Gwiazdoski. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Crosby High School and then went on to attend Paier College where she earned her degree in interior design. She began working for Argene Interiors where she met her future husband, Anthony Famigletti. She and Anthony raised a beautiful family of three wonderful children and then Marcia returned to work at the Simeon Co where she worked for 27 years before retiring. Marcia truly enjoyed cooking for her family, especially on birthdays and holidays and enjoyed crossword puzzles, TV Guide, sci-fi shows of all types, and always trying to stump her grandchildren with puzzles. She loved vacations, traveling to visit her daughter and son in law in VA and going to Cape Cod for the annual girls weekend. What was most important to Marcia, though was her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil regularly. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children: Deborah McMullin and her husband, Brian of Chesapeake VA, Alan Famigletti of Watertown and Lisa Gelinas and her husband, David of Oakville, her devoted grandchildren; Ryan, Amy, Matthew and his wife, Ryleigh who were the joy of her life. She also leaves her brother, Roland Gwiazdoski and his wife, Bernadette of Watertown and her sister, Nancy Cossette of Plantsville and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Marcia's family would like to acknowledge and offer their profound appreciation to the staff at Apple Rehab and Vitas Innovative Care Service for the caring love they shared with Marcia and her family during her illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Famigletti will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 6:45 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT 06779. Relatives and friends may visit with the Famigletti family from 5:00 p.m. till the service at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. We are still very concerned about the pandemic so masks must be worn at all times, while inside whether you are vaccinated or not.
