Beloved mother and grandmother

WATERBURY – Mabel Korbusieski, age 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 25, 2024 in the comfort of her home.  She was the widow of Chester Korbusieski.  

Mabel was born October 5th, 1929, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Raymond Hilyard and Mary (Traver) Dunn. She spent many years working as a quality control inspector for Scovill Manufacturing and was an extremely talented duck pin bowler and long-time member of the Perrillo’s bowling league, where she coached and taught bowling to youth organizations and was inducted into the CT Duckpin Bowling Hall of Fame.  She was also a avid golfer and enjoyed taking trips to the casino and relaxing on Misquamicut Beach.   Mabel was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She always considered her greatest achievements in life were her children and grandchildren and she was always happiest while spending time surrounded by their love and support.    

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children; Diane Piccolo and her husband, David of Jupiter Fl, Donna Korbusieski of Waterbury, and David Korbusieski and his wife, Natalia of Wolcott.  She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Micheal and his wife Melissa, Destiny and her husband Cristhian, Erika and Monika., as well as her great-grandson, Luca.  She was predeceased by her eight brothers and two sisters.  

Funeral Services for Mrs. Korbusieski will be held on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception,74 West Main St Waterbury, CT. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.  Relatives and friends may visit with Mabel's family on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT, Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence or words of comfort or share a memory of someone important to you with your family and friends.
