WATERBURY – Lynnette Eleanor Hodgkins Ortiz, age 50, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2023. Although saddened by her passing, the family rejoices in the hope of seeing and being with her once again in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Him alone can this peace be found. (1 Corinthians 15:55).
Lynnette was born on November 2, 1972, in Nowich, CT, the daughter of Roger and Priscilla (Giddens) Hodgkins. She earned a masters degree in counselling and desired to help people through her profession. She had a love of poetry that she inherited from her grandfather. She enjoyed both reading and writing poems. She also loved to decorate cakes and made countless cakes for family, friends, and church. She loved and was loved by her family; especially her grandchildren, A’siyah and A’riyah, who were the apple of her eye.
To honor her legacy and cherish her memory along with her husband, Bing Ortiz, of Waterbury, CT; Lynnette leaves behind her daughter, Bianca Ortiz, of Milford, CT; her grandchildren; A’siyah Darden, A’riyah Ortiz, and Bing Ortiz III; her mother, Priscilla Hodgkins and aunt, Bev Giddens of Hollis Maine; her brother, Larry Hodgkins and wife Becky of Bristol, NH; her niece, Emily Hodgkins of Bristol, NH. Lynnette was predeceased by her father, Roger Vernon Hodgkins of Norwich, CT.
