Mr. Louis J Desena Jr.

May 14, 1942 — November 12, 2022

WATERTOWN- Louis J. Desena, age 80 of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at the Middlebury Convalescent Center surrounded by his family after an extended illness. He was the widower of Frances M. (Rainchuso) Desena.

Louis was born May 14th, 1942 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Louis and Mary (Mulville) Desena. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and proudly served his country with the US Marines Corp. Louis spent over 40 years working as a Manager for Stop and Shop Grocery Stores before retiring. He enjoyed gardening and spending time in his yard and was always happiest while spending time with his family, especially fishing with his grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St John the Evangelist Church.

Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy are his two sons; Michael Desena and his wife, Lana of Oakville and Mark Desena and his wife, Gretta of Watertown. He also leaves his brother, Lawrence Desena, and his wife, Judy of Oakville, and his sister, Sister Mary Lou Desena of Dominican Sisters of Peace, Great Bend, KS. Louis was blessed with three grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life; Daniel, Ashley and Alexander Desena.

The Desena family would like to thank and acknowledge the doctor’s nurses and staff at Middlebury Convalescent Home for the loving care and support they provided to Louis during his stay there.

Funeral services, a Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Desena will be held on Friday, November 18th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Disciples Parish, St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St. Watertown, CT 06795. All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. At the wishes of the family there will be no public visitation. To honor Louis’s memory memorial donations to the Middlebury Convalescent Center at 778 Middlebury Rd, Middlebury, CT 06762 would be greatly appreciated Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence and share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone that was important to you.
