Obituary

BOSTON MA – It is with profound sadness that the family Loriann (Pisapio) McDonald, age 65, shares the news of her peaceful passing in the comfort of her daughter’s home on Wednesday evening, November 4, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of her cherished husband, Michael “Archie” McDonald.

Loriann was born on October 27, 1961 in Waterbury, the beloved daughter of the late Rosalind and Lawrence Pisapio Sr. Born and raised in Waterbury, Loriann was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School and American International College and served as a dedicated social worker for the City of Waterbury and State of Connecticut for over 40 years. Lori will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her incredible strength and resilience, her quiet yet powerful presence, and her thoughtful, unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her favorite days were those spent at family gatherings, keeping traditions alive and making lasting memories. Lori was a devoted mother whose greatest pride and joy was her daughter and best friend, Dr. Alexandra (McDonald) Catizone. Lori and Alex shared a unique, powerful and unbreakable bond, joined at the hip as they ventured through each chapter of life.

In addition to her daughter, Alexandra, and son-in-law Rosario of Boston, MA, Lori is survived by her brother, Lawrence Pisapio Jr. and his wife, Gail; her nephew Lawrence III and his wife, Diane; her niece, Lindsay; and her nephew, Nicholas. She also leaves behind her long-time companion, Walter Wilkowski, as well as her beloved Rinaldi and Kennedy (Exarhou) cousins, whom she considered to be her immediate family.

Funeral services for Mrs. McDonald will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St., Waterbury. Relatives and friends are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
