Ms. Linda Kenon

WATERBURY – Linda Jean Kenon, age 73, of Waterbury, former resident of Midway, FL transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, June 21, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Linda was born on September 24, 1950 in Tallahassee, FL, the daughter of the late Solomon and Rebecca Kenon (née Peters). She was the eighth of nine children. Linda was a graduate of Havana Northside High School and she enjoyed sewing and taking care of her plants, finding joy and peace in these simple pleasures. After the birth of their fourth child, Linda and her partner in life, the late Earl Simms, relocated from Florida to Waterbury, CT, where they continued to nurture their family.

Linda is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Stacey Simms of Fairfield, CT; her sons, Corey Kenon of Waterbury, CT, Shawn Kenon of Waterbury, CT, and Philip Simms of Bronx, NY. She also leaves behind her sister, Elease (David) Watson Sr. of Midway, FL; her brother, Otis Kenon of Midway, FL; her granddaughter, Shawna Kenon of New Haven, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowful relatives.

 All services will be held privately at the convenience of Linda’s family.
