WATERBURY- It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leonard Boutote, age 80, shares the news of the unexpected passing of their beloved father, brother, grandfather, and uncle on Thursday, October 8th 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital.
Leonard was born on June 29, 1946, in Fort Kent, Maine, the son of the late Leonid and Mary (Caron) Boutote. Leonard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, a commitment that shaped his character and instilled values of dedication and bravery that he carried throughout his life. A lover of the great outdoors, Leonard cherished moments spent hiking and walking around his Waterbury neighborhood, always eager to share a smile with those he met along the way. Leonard was a longtime devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and his passion for life also extended to his hobbies, which included a strong affinity for Star Wars memorabilia and country music, especially the heartfelt tunes of John Denver.
