Ms. Laraine C. Mills

WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Laraine C. Mills, age 79, of Waterbury, passed into the Lord’s hands of grace after a long illness, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Laraine was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on June 30, 1945, the daughter of the late Robert and Marian A. (Warren) Mills. Laraine retired from Fenn Manufacturing in Newington after 34 years of service. Earlier in her career, she had been employed by Farrell Foundry and Machine Company. She was a long-time active member with the Bouley Manor Neighborhood Association and served as one of its representatives to the Greater Waterbury Neighborhood Association. She was also active as both a volunteer and financial supporter of the Waterbury Police Activity League (PAL). In her family life, she was the unofficial record keeper for the entire family. She annually published a directory to all, identifying names, addresses, marriages, births, deaths and phone numbers and any other information thought to be useful. A great source of enjoyment came from frequent trips to many scenic and historical locations and all the beaches of Cape Cod. Her life was a rich tapestry of accomplishments centered around her love of family. Rest in peace Laraine as your legacy of love and you spirit will endure forever.

Left to honor and cherish her memories are her brother, James S. Mills and his wife Sandra of Wolcott, her nephews: Scott R. Mills and his wife Cheri of Torrington, Jeffrey J. Mills and his wife Julie and their children Ashley and Conner of Wallingford, and David S. Mills and his wife Marissa and their children Ryan and his wife Lauren of Wethersfield and Christopher of Southington. She also leaves behind many cousins and other extended family members and friends.

The family wishes to express its appreciation to the Highland Caregivers of Waterbury, CT, especially Vanessa and Mirriam for special recognition for their service and to the staff and personnel of Hartford Healthcare Hospice Unit.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit the Mills family on Friday June 20, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
