WATERBURY – It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Kevin O’Donnell, age 63, of Waterbury, shares news of his unexpected passing on April 7th 2026. Kevin was a spirited handyman and an all-around great guy, who will leave behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a helping hand to all who knew him.

Kevin was born in Waterbury, CT, on October 11th 1962, to the late John O’Donnell and Mary Jane (Steadman) O’Donnell. As a lifelong resident of Waterbury, he graduated from Crosby High School.

Kevin was a true jack of all trades, always ready to lend a hand to friends, neighbors, or family members in need of a repair or update around the house. His enthusiasm for fixing things was contagious, and he approached every task with a smile and a generous heart. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember him as a gentle soul, known for his sense of humor and unwavering support. Kevin was extremely proud of his Irish heritage, and he embodied the warmth and spirit of his roots. A devoted sports fan, Kevin cheered passionately for the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the UConn Huskies. His love for life extended beyond sports; he cherished memories of skiing in his younger years and was a dedicated music enthusiast, reveling in the experience of live concerts. Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy are his mother, Mary Jane O’Donnell, and his sisters, Sandra Rizk and her husband, James of Watertown, Karen Ahmed and her husband, Andrew of Waterbury, Patricia Leavey and her husband, Patrick of Bethpage, Long Island, NY, and Kathleen O’Donnell of Bristol. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends. He is predeceased y his brother Thomas O’Donnell.

Funeral services for Mr. O’Donnell will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr, Waterbury, when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
