WATERBURY- It is with heavy hearts that the family of Keith Anthony Barnes, of Waterbury, shares the news of his peaceful passing at Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on December 20th, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Laritta (Owens) Barnes.

Keith was born on September 30, 1967, in Washington, D.C., the son of Brutus Barnes and Emma Moore. He was a graduate of New England Tractor Trailer Training School and retired from K & L Trucking, a firm he proudly owned for many years. Keith was a dependable source of wisdom, always ready with great advice and a listening ear. He cherished time with his family, enjoyed traveling, passionately followed all sports, and found the occasional thrill in high-stakes gambling. He had an exquisite taste for good food, which he often shared with those he loved.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife, Laritta, and his parents are his children, Iziah Barnes, Daveon Barnes, Eleyona Barnes, Keylani Barnes, Shawn Kinnel, Kiasha Kinnel, Terrell Kinnel, Marquis Kinnel, Trumont Turpin, Elijahwa Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Niesha Wright, Kaneisha Barnes, and Keith Morris. Keith leaves many grandchildren, his siblings, Norris Barnes, Bridgette Barnes, Telly Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Raymond Perry Jr., Eric Barnes, Tasha Moore, Lucinda Owens, Gary Owens Jr., and Maurice Owens. Keith also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Keith’s family on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, Ct 06705.
