“Devoted to her family”
PLYMOUTH- Karen E. Pesillo, 56, of Terryville, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2024, at Bristol Hospital. She was the loving wife of John Pesillo.
Karen, affectionately known by her many friends and family as “KK,” was born in Waterbury, CT, on May 20th, 1968, the daughter of the late Walter “Buddy” and Patricia “Betty” (Miller) Ericsson. Karen graduated from Wilby High School and later attended Naugatuck Valley Community College where she pursued an education in nursing. Always thinking of, caring for, and serving others, Karen built a fulfilling career with the State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services, first as a Direct Care Worker and most recently as a Case Manager. She was known for her infectious laughter, big heart, and unwavering kindness towards everyone she met. Karen's warm spirit and willingness to help others endeared her to many. In her leisure time, Karen enjoyed camping, spending quality time with her family and friends, dancing, and attending concerts. She was a member of the American Legion Post 20 Women's Auxiliary.
Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy besides her husband of 18 years, John, Karen leaves her loving daughter, Katie Pesillo, her stepdaughters, Tiersa Pesillo of Waterbury and Nicole Cruz, and her husband, Felipe, and their children, Xander and Elias, all of Terryville. She also leaves her mother and father in-law; Laura Bernardi and John Pesillo Sr. her sisters; Sharon Smith and her husband Ed of Terryville, Carol Grosso and her husband Jody of Portland, in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and many friends who will cherish her memory.
A “Beautiful Farewell Service ™ ” to celebrate Karen's life will be held at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends may visit with Karen’s family from 10:00 a.m. until the service at Noon.
