WATERBURY — It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Justiniano Cruz shares the news of his peaceful passing on Monday, August 31, 2026, in the blessed comfort of his home.

Justiniano was born on August 9, 1949, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, the beloved son of the late Prudencio and Evarista (Roldan) Cruz. Justiniano filled his life with a passion for classic music and a love for staying informed about the world around him. He often spent his evenings enveloped in the soothing sounds of his favorite melodies, followed by watching the news and his beloved Spanish channels on television. He will be remembered not only for his interests but also for the love and kindness he shared with family and friends. Justiniano brought joy to countless hearts and was a steadfast source of support for those he loved.

Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy are his sons; Richie Cruz, Alex Cruz, and Justin Cruz, his daughter; Eva Cruz, his stepsons; Manuel Gonzalez and Orlando Gonzalez, and his siblings; Maria Cruz, Delia Cruz, Jose Cruz, and Lydia Cruz. Justiniano also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Besides his parents, Justiniano was predeceased by his beloved brothers.

Funeral services for Mr. Cruz will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Justiniano’s family from 10:00 a.m. until the service commences at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at All Saint’s Cemetery, 203 Spring Lake Road Waterbury.
