SOUTHBURY- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ms. Juanita (Gonzalez) Robles, age 86, of Southbury, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Waterbury Hospital’s Hospice Unit, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the beloved widow of Mr. Esteban Robles.
Juanita was born on July 12, 1939, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Felix and Inocencia (Lopez) Gonzalez. Juanita was a devoted mother and family-oriented, finding joy in every gathering, warmth in every hug, and laughter in every moment spent with her loved ones. It was her loved ones that filled her life with purpose and fulfillment. She had a vibrant spirit and a love for life that was infectious. Her days were often filled with music and dance, and she cherished every opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. Whether it was immersing herself in Spanish soap operas, enjoying a glass of wine, or indulging in a relaxing manicure, Juanita knew how to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Juanita’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Juanita lived a life filled with love, passion, and an unwavering commitment to family. Though she will be profoundly missed, her memory will continue to inspire joy and togetherness in those she leaves behind.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her five daughters; Jacqueline “Jackie” (Matos) DeNovellis and her husband Craig of Newington, Betsy (Matos) Torres of Apopka, Florida, Sonia Rosario of Coventry, Rhode Island, Yvette Santiago of Hamden, and Lilian Parra and her husband Jimmy of North Smithfield, Rhode Island. She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends. Besides her parents and loving husband, Juanita was predeceased by her brother Felix Gonzalez Jr.
Funeral services for Mrs. Robles will be held on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Casey’s Funeral Home and Cremation Care,1987 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with her family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service commences at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
