WATERBURY – Josephine “Jody” (Cambino) Blair, age 76 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, on Friday, July 11, 2025 surrounded by the love of her devoted husband and sons. She was the beloved wife of Roy “Rich” Blair.
Jody was born on November 30, 1948 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gloria (Sticco) Cambino of Waterbury. Jody lived a life filled with warmth, love, and an unwavering passion for books and family. Jody devoted over two decades of her life to managing bookstores, including Walden's Books, Borders, and Barnes & Noble. An avid knitter and a culinary enthusiast, Jody took delight in making pasta sauce and creating delicious meals and desserts during the holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Together with her husband, Rich, she found happiness in long car rides, exploring the beauty of their surroundings and sharing laughter along the way. Jody’s favorite moments were spent with her family, especially her sons, in whom she instilled a deep appreciation for literature, life, and family. She was a parishioner of St Francis Xavier parish. Jody will be deeply missed but her warmth, kindness, and generosity will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Besides her devoted husband of 52 years, Jody is survived by her son, Deron and his wife, Laurie of Scotch Plains, NJ, her son, Bryan and his wife Patricia of Fanwood, NJ, her son, Jason and his wife, Aimee of Berlin, CT. Rich and Jody were blessed with 6 grandchildren; Emma, Julia, Angelina, Donovan, Jack, and Sonia. Jody is also survived by her sister, Gloria Sereduck and her husband Lawrence of Coventry, RI, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Blair will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with the Blair family on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence, words of comfort, or share a memory with the family and friends of someone important to you on the funeral home website.
