Mr. Joseph Romano Jr.

May 2, 1962 — November 17, 2022

WATERBURY - Joseph Salvatore Romano Jr. age 60 of Waterbury passed away peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his home on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Joe was born on May 2, 1962, in Waterbury the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Marietta (Orso) Romano. Joe grew up with many childhood friends that he was still friends with till his death. Many of Joe’s friends were there for him throughout his life and stood by his side always. A special thanks to his best caring friends that stood by Joe. Bernie Famiglietti, Dave and Helen Delorenzo and Danny Caporale. Joe had too many friends to list that were there for him throughout his life, but we thank them all. Joe went to St. Joseph’s Catholic Grammar School and Kaynor Technical School to become a Toolmaker. He held various jobs before finding his niche in toolmaking. He worked at Week’s Precision for many years and moved up the ladder. He later worked at Truline Corp where he retired from. Joe was a very intelligent man who had a lot of vision. He became ill shortly after leaving Truline Corp. For many years he struggled with life which led to much of his disabilities. He still tried to keep a smile on his face and always had nice things to say about everyone. One of Joe’s passions was cooking. He loved to cook especially for a group of people. His food was delicious. He was also a member of the Hill Street Club where he also cooked for gatherings at the club. Joe grew up with nature. He loved hunting and fishing more than anything. It was his peace and tranquility. His true passion was fishing. Hunting rarely turned out in his favor but he kept trying. He taught his boys how to fish and showed them all the tricks. He enjoyed going to Rhode Island every year on vacation and just relaxing, eating, fishing, and spending quality time with his family.
Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy are his two loving sons, Vincent Joseph Romano and Robert Michael Romano. He also leaves behind his ex-wife Dana Giusto-Romano, his brother, Frank Romano and many nieces and nephews, family and friends who he had special times with, and he adored them all very much. A special thanks to Dale Giusto for always helping Joe and being the truly best sister. Joe adored his two beautiful sons more than life itself. He tried his best with what he had.
May he Rest in Peace with no pain or suffering any longer.
