WATERBURY — It is with broken hearts that the family of Mr. Joseph Rodriguez, age 35, of Waterbury, say farewell for now to our beloved, father, son, brother, and friend, following his tragic passing at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026.

Joseph was born on March 1st, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Frankling Rodriguez and Lucy Benavides. In 2004, Joseph and his family would make the move to Connecticut and make their home in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he would go on to build a life filled with family, friendship, and memories that will forever be cherished. Joseph was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and found great joy in music, especially Spanish and Salsa music, which held a special place in his heart. Music was a true passion of his and was often a source of happiness and inspiration throughout his life.

Those who knew Joseph will remember him for his infectious smile, positive outlook, and the warmth he brought into the lives of others. He had an abundance of love for his family, and that love was returned to him wholeheartedly. His family was an important part of his life, and he treasured the time spent with those closest to him. Joseph had a way of bringing laughter and joy to those around him, leaving behind countless memories that his loved ones will carry with them forever. The love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy besides his parents, are his children; Jaziah Faithann Rodriguez of Waterbury and Joziah Rodriguez of Waterbury, his siblings; Christopher Rodriguez of Waterbury, Johana Roberts of Waterbury, Karina Rodriguez of Waterbury, and Barbra Rodriguez of Waterbury, his grandmother; Aida Anastacio, as well as his nephews; Andrew Reid, Edwin Roberts, Alshawn Mcrae, and Xavier Betta. Joseph also leaves behind several other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Joseph was predeceased by his brother, Edwin Benavides.

Funeral services for Joseph will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
